Not a massive amount for me today, as I have spent a good chunk of my day trying to get my petulant phone to play nicely - failed miserably, so I have now emailed HTC for help!
Garden wise, I tied in my cucumbers and provided strings on the greenhouse ceiling as they are off and running skyward; I gave them another wee spray with milk solution to get any bits I missed yesterday, then harvested a load of tomatoes, and the tiny handful of broad beans that grew, which were cooked and eaten with dinner. Then it was watering before a quick shower, and now sat with my wee dog to my left, and a nice cool Bacardi to my right.

Anyone know why the water that I cooked my broad beans in turned reddish?

Sat on the JCB for a couple of hours this morning digging up concrete foundations - MOST BORING JOB IN THE WORLD :( ... then went to meet GC mates at East Ruston Old Vicarage. Now got 100's of cuttings to start off - thanks Mrs Shiney :) - and a few plants to plant too. Top Trumps :)

Today I am going to give everything its last feed for this year - apart from the Roses/Fuchsias/Clematis because I want those to go on blooming.

Moving about of heavy planters now that the fences are all done and mowing the blimmin' lawn yet again

During the week I was catching up on mowing and edging and have got the main lawns done. I had got behind because it had been too hot to do it and I'd been trying to catch up on weeding. I'm sure the weeds are popping back up behind me as I work!

Mrs Shiney has been doing lots of pruning and cutting back of shrubs and the wheelie bins are full and the bonfire heap is 6ft high with an equal amount on woody stuff piled to one side. I can't have a bonfire until the farmer has harvested the wheat.

Watering the greenhouse, pots, baskets and nursery areas takes an hour per day and the daily bean picking takes about 45 minutes. Added to that, soon, will be the picking of plums (much later than usual) and picking of pears and apples (much earlier than usual)

Dead heading and feeding - decided to change tack with my feeding regime too, as my petunias foliage was looking distinctly light in colour again - got a funny feeling that amongst other nutrients, a lack of nitrogen was the problem, so I fed all the flowering plants with Miracle Gro All Purpose which seems to be weighted toward nitrogen? Walloped some of it into my courgettes and cucumbers also, which seem to be on the up again :)

Then it was over to the tomato food for the tomatoes.

Oh, and I dug out the remaining lettuce which had bolted, and sowed some more, as well as sowing more radishes and spring onions.

PS - any recommendations what to feed my leeks?

Nitrogen. Although perhaps not too much so they don't grow too vigorously.

...another two hours digging at the herb garden area, before lunch. I can't make this cuppa last any longer, so I'd best get back out in me 'ole. ;)

Been working on the new rockery today. It should be called a "Bouldery" really as I've got some lovely but huge rocks in it. Next job will be planting it I guess. It has clouded over here though so that may have to wait a while. All good exercise! :)

                            Thanks Jenny :)

I keep having that niggling feeling that I could have done better, but I suppose that we are all the same; interestingly, I was at MIL's today, and their garden isn't anything near as laden with flowers or even tomatoes - and I supplied the tomatoes as seedlings, so they are out of the same packet as mine. Makes me feel a wee bit better.

I'm already planning next year - thread to follow later. ;)

Same here FC planning what to grow next year. ;)
Potted on 2 canna Australia's, hoping they will form tubers .
Potted on a black bamboo into a new big pot. It was very pot bound
Dead headed all the bedding and fed the toms, cucumbers and peppers.
The lemon cucumbers seem to be very slow this year flowers only just coming.
The apple cucumbers are getting quite large now. :)
