Gave the lawn it's first cut, tidied the garden, cut the edges, weeded, and painted the front face of my new gates.

[IMG] thought I'd attach a pic of the driveway that we had done. Grass, well weeds, gone!

2 1/2 hours pruning roses this morning was quite enough with that lazy east wind blowing. Have come home to warm up and found the mail order plants
I'd ordered have arrived - off to play in the (heated) greenhouse this afternoon.:)

I decided to brave the cold (thermal undies on :heehee:) and do a little work in the garden.

I thought I would try and rake some of the moss from the front lawn but to no avail. The rake wouldn't lift the moss at all!. It was so thick and tight that the tines wouldn't dig in. It seems as thuogh I have two choices. Don't bother - or get someone to come in with a machine to do it.

So I carried on with getting the lawn edges sorted. After half an hour I was still nice and cosy in my thermals but my fingers were dropping off. Gave up, came back indoors for a hot shower and a nice cuppa. :dbgrtmb:

Unfortunately I ended up in the shed most of the time (unheated) because that is where I do my potting up etc - no room for such luxuries in my minute GH.

Good luck with that - clay's not the kindest of materials at the best of times but when it's waterlogged, ugh! I suppose you could pile the soil from one half on top of the other half, lift the liner, fill in that side then do the other half the same way so you don't have to mess up the rest of your garden with all that wet clay?

Started to sow some seeds to go in my propagator, working in the garage, my fingers nearly broke off with the cold, luckily my son called in with my grandson,Sam and that gave me a good reason to get back in the house. They have just left, so its too late to any more work, so just off to make my tea.

Never known moss like it - no surprised given how wet its been. I put some Iron Sulphate on the lawns today ... I'll let you know if that has loosened the moss in a few days, and if they look the colour of artificial grass :heehee:

Did you find my shirt with the missing button then? :heehee:
