:) As I explain to people who ask "I don't not drink, I just choose not to drink". Reading that back no wonder they look confused after I say it!!

Today: Battening down the hatches for the pending storm. All fall-over-able pots being moved to shelter or under cover. Lots of "loose stuff" lying around outside going to be brought in - high time too, we've got far too much clobber lying around!

Wind is picking up now, but still no rain (yet!)

It was so beautiful this morning when I was at Doggy School, too!

Not a good day for the garden - rain most of the day and so cold. Decided to test the central heating is still working and snuggled down on the settee for the afternoon in the warmth. Trouble was I fell asleep and lost most of the afternoon - which is so unlike me. I never sleep during the day - always too much to do.

Blowing a hoolie today. The 2 planters with the tall cosmos and the dahlias in were lying on their side, I turned them right way up and they were wrecked! Cut the dahlias back o the corms and ripped the cosmos out. Very dry here as we'll so just gave everything a good soak.

The forecast rain didn't materialise until around 6pm so quite a productive day for me. :)

Mucked out and powdered the chicken hut, cut our elderly neighbour's grass, washed the car and still had time to lay a row of bricks along the side of the new shed, to prevent 'splashback' and encroaching growth.
I used a rubber mallet to tap down the bricks, only managed to hit my finger once, which is pretty good for me.

30mph wind blowing here today, just a mere breeze for the island!

I've not been near the garden today......obviously, so have made use of the time working on an Edwardian bureau that I'm restoring.
