What Jobs Are We Doing in the Garden Today... MK3.. 2013

My lovely Hospice Lottery lady gave me permission to bring home approx. 50 little Bank Cash bags( for assorted coinage ) and I plan to wrap a portion of seeds in a sheet of soft loo roll and make an envelope of it, then pop it in a labelled cash bag. I didn't think your site was Acres Jenny? My Red Dragon spread over a significant area in the Summer (and then die back to start again from scratch the following year). You'll be able to trim any excess of course, but you may want to start sharpening your secateurs as a winter project

 

It's here, in the Communal garden Kristen, to the left of the water butt. I think I may be able to keep it under control there. It's pretty dry so it shouldn't romp on - in theory.

 

It will look great growing above that Cotoneaster horizontalis (I assume?) and then dying back in winter to leave you the evergreen and berries

 

What do you use, when you say "smelly stuff"? My mum is having problems with badgers on her lawn, and it is really getting her down. It has been suggested that she use Jeyes Fluid, so she was going to try with Domestos. Not quite the same thing? Is there a better "smelly" she could use?

 

Mowed the lawn, took some fuchsia cuttings.
Dead headed the dahlias and marigolds but starting to fade now

 

Got my onions in, both red and white ones.

Planted and watered in my young lettuce plants.

Swept up the leaves from under the pear tree, put them away.

Tidied up another Fuchsia plant, and took cuttings.

Cleared between the tiles for small weeds and swept the patio.

Picked a large quantity of Runner beans, cut them up, put them through my shredder and cooked them ready to go into the freezer.

Was very pleased with what I achieved today.

 

Cut some grass, dead headed Cosmos, Dahlia and Calendula. The 2 tomato plants were stripped of anything decent (most still green tho' ) and then composted.

Extended the front beds/borders as per the OH wishes !

General tidying /Autumn (Winter) prep out front, still have to plant up my Foxgloves, Kniphofia and Gallardia, still got Spring bulbs to sort, Pansies, Violas, Polyanthus, Wall Flowers it never ends.......

Oh and tomorrows plans have had to be shelved, got a call from the agency, I have work, 6am start, and pick up site is at least 30 mins away. Have plans for after already, lordy, lordy where can one find time.............

 

Rotovated a fair bit of the veg plot ready for onions, garlic, shallots and broad beans. Finally got around to digging up the sad remnants of my lovely spineless raspberries and transfered them to a new area, with a thick mulch of muck after....The original plants came from a one-off plant sale 30 years ago. Wish I could identify them to replace them with new stock!

 

That'll teach the spineless Raspberries

 

I see you called in by Aldi..... were their Autumn bedding plants any good, those at my local Aldi are already as good as dead
