Very little rain here today, so put the grease bands on my fruit trees,
and planted my garlic bulbs. Trussed up my green tomatoes, and they are now hanging
    in my lean to.
So all the hype about the storm, that never was in our district.:doggieshmooze:

Been a lovely day here so got in the garden and planted some bulbs in a long trough, moved an Arbutus Unedo from one large pot to a larger one, lugged lots of heavy planters around in an effort to rearrange them and pulled a couple of Clematis out of a planter. They don't half put some roots out which were a pain to pull out.

      Lovely day here too.

Did dead heading of Cosmos, Pearlagonium, Calenendula. Cleared some Zinna from the front to make way for Daffs and Gallardia, which were planted . Asters still doing well (only annuals tho') so left them be.

Planted out Foxgloves (alba) into shady front, did loads of weeding out front too, but new planting areas so expected, need to see if annual or perennial weeds....

Have loads to do this week, just to keep up !

have lost 1 Hebe cutting, but Fuchsia cuttings looking great, thinking about pinching out tops....? What do you think?

Had a very enjoyable day in the garden, relaxed and chilled now.

I'd leave them until you pot them on (assuming you have several cuttings per pot at present). I would remove any flowers that try to form, so the plant can focus on building a root system, and then some new growth.

It the lawn, edged the borders, planted 4 festuca and another fatsia in the borders, and a fig tree and a yukka in planters.

Removed most of the summer bedding apart from dahlias and planted some more wallflowers today. Picked the last of the toms and red peppers. Couldn't bend down for too long though, after a heavy night last night

Thanks, I have 4 in a 6" pot all doing really well, only looks like they maybe a bit leggy, that's why I asked about pinching, will be sure to remove any flowers, thanks again. :love30:

If you can grow them on during the winter (heat and light required :) ) then it would be worth potting them up and training them (by pinching out regularly to get the shape you want, either a standard or a pyramid, for example. Otherwise if you are basically growing them to put out next year then I would be inclined to keep them on minimal heat - min 5C say - and then pot them on in the spring and encourage them into shape as they get under way with increasing light and heat.

            This might help on training:

and there are other useful articles on that site:

Having cleared out most of my finished tomato plants from the greenhouse at the weekend I spent a couple of hours in there today potting on cuttings/plants. Cistus, Weigela and Clematis. My brother sent me four Fuschia cuttings a few weeks back and they are now settling and starting to grow on well. Two Hawkshead and two unknown from my mothers garden that have the tiniest of flowers, no bigger than a little fingernail.

Not the best of pics, sorry!
