After a frosty start, this afternoon warmed up to 8 degrees so I planted dahlia bulbs and Lilly bulbs into pots. They are sheltered against a wall, all tucked up with each other so hopefully they'll be ok.

Too cold to venture into the garden!! Had a sick day off Monday due to a chest infection, so potted up a load of seeds - Toms, Cues, Chillies, Aubergines, etc & put in the boiler cupboard.
All the Cucumbers are up already!!!!! about 2" high - not bad for 72 hours.

Sorry to hear you've not been well, HB, but at least you managed to do something constructive even though you weren't firing on all pistons:snork:

Mrs Trunky feeling a bit poorly at present, so after I'd completed all my housework and shopping duties, I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours in the garden this afternoon.
Sowed the peppers and tomatoes and started the annual washing down/cleaning of all the greenhouse glass so the new seedlings get maximum light.
Most years, this involves removing a few panes to scrape out any moss growing under the edges, but, after one of the wettest years ever, there was no moss to be seen this time round. Makes no sense.

Thanks Armandii - Mr HB would say I haven't been firing on all cylinders for years!!! :heehee:

An Aubergine, Several chilles, the Italian toms and loads of leeks are up too now, so I have to make space on the kitchen windowsill for the annual seedling fest

If it is warm enough, I may venture outside tomorrow to either start digging over the veg patch or go play - er - I mean potter in the greenhouse

With the amount of rain we've had Trunky it's probably not had a chance to cling on! :heehee:

Well this afternoon, cut back a few shrubs, got rid of some things I decided I did not like and then watered all the plants in the conservatory. After that weed killered some grass so I can make bigger boarders and then contemplated where the heck I am going to put all the plants I have brought.:)

Lovely oh brought me 5 wheelbarrows of horse poo, dumped them on my new rose garden bed, followed by 2barrows of topsoil. Promised more today to finish it off, then I can plant my roses. What a lovely day. Sowed lettuce, cabbage, some flowers, weeded the border and trimmed the edge, moved a large hydrangea. The 2remaini g chucks have found the garden, and spent most of the day with me, clucking happily over every find. They are looking very well but haven't had an egg for ages. The dog does lick his lips a lot when he looks at them.
