Two hours of tidying up and edgeing, three hours of pressure hosing and I reckon another hour to try and straighten my back up! I've taken one of Mrs Shiney's potions for the aches and pains and shall start on dinner as guests arrive at six.

Good plan, no sense leaving anything for them to eat given that they haven't done anything to help in the garden :heehee:

Busy day yesterday - decided to cut the grass, however when I opened the shed to get the lawnmower, the contents of the shed met me at the door! So, I started off by gutting out the shed and getting rid of all the debris that had been left by the mice that had apparently moved in over the winter.

As I was moving some stuff out of the shed into the greenhouse (pots and baskets), I decided that I had best pressure wash the greenhouse inside and out and get it prepared for service.

Then, I moved on to cutting the grass - or should I say chewing the top off it with the lawnmower as it was so long (8 inches in some parts!), and ended up with an incredible amount of grass cuttings.

Next, I decided to throw a couple of handfuls of chicken manure pellets into one of my planters, then lobbed a good load of fresh compost over the top - hopefully the lilly, fuchsia and honeysuckle that are in it will be appreciative enough to give me a nice display.

Lastly, it was a case of blasting off the stray grass cuttings and stuff from the patio, before retiring indoors to water all the seedlings and then have a well deserved shower and a few pints. :)

So nice to be able to work outside in the sun in a T-shirt

A good day indeed FC. So, the greenhouse is getting ready to welcome guests is it? You won't know where you are if you move the contents of the "Hot House at Kew" into the GH :heehee:

                    Watered everything in the greenhouse.
Noticed that 1 of the canerias Phoenix I repotted last week is starting to die on the centre leaves :gaah:
Other one doing fine, both in the greenhouse!
                    Hope it out turns ok

It will be nice to get the back of the living room back Jenny - I am just trying to work out what will be safe to evict to the greenhouse and when. I think I will stick my onions out there tomorrow, and that clears the porch. Tomatoes, chillies, peppers, marigolds, dahilas etc will all have to stay in the house for now until things warm up I think - happy to be corrected on this though?

Some pics of the seedlings indoors, in case anyone is interested:

Two of the many trays of tomato seedlings - these ones are craning their wee necks to get to the light
                        IMAG0215.jpg

More tomatoes with some petunias in the background
                        IMAG0217.jpg

Marigolds and petunias (with a wee tomato sneaking in at the bottom)
                        IMAG0218.jpg

Dahlias back and middle, with geraniums and ascarina scandens (sp?) in the front of the tray with the geraniums - the ascarina scandens haven't done well at all.
