      Thanks :)

      This is my first year growing absolutely everything from seed (with the only exceptions being tree lillies which I bought as bulbs last autumn, and XXXL dahlias which I am using to replace ones that rotted over winter); its also my first year with a 'proper' greenhouse, so I am chuffed that everything has come along as well as it has.

        This warm dry weather was too good to miss so I spent a second day in the garden. I potted up trays of Echinacea, Rudbeckia, Sun Flowers, Sweet Peas, and also got ready those plants for the Local Garden Sales which will be collected on Wednesday, and then got ready those plants that are in Shiney's Open Day sale. One thing I discovered was that my seedlings were not just two weeks behind in growth because of the cold but more like 6 weeks. So a fair amount of plants will not be going on sale due to the fact that they've not big enough as yet.:dunno:
        I've been meaning to finish off jobs in the pond so I put my Chest Waders on and had a paddle around sorting out the Bog Garden and Marginal plants. I had also left the Pond Heater connected so I took that out and reconnected the Pump for the water fall. Once I'd got that connected I put the two Clay Jugs on the large flat stone, put the pump pipe into the base of one of them and lay the pot on it's side. The other pot has sand in it to make it have so that it doesn't get blown over the winds so I stood that up on the flat stone next to the other pot. Once the pump was on and the water was flowing out of the pot I adjusted the stones underneath where the water falls to try and get the right peaceful, soothing sound. After that it was a case of a mug of tea and a sit in the Arbour.......only to find out that I couldn't stay there due to a discovery I made!!:snork::hapfeet:

                  Got the grass cut today after its been growing at an astonishing rate with this irratic weather, also did some weeding, a bit more potting up and some general bits and bobs :biggrin:

                    Potted my chillies on into their respective trough planters (one for the lemon drop chillies, one for the super hot ones), made up a couple of hanging baskets with petunias (5 x trailing, 1 x upright in each basket) and they are now hanging from the greenhouse roof.

                    I also re-potted my passiflora into a huge pot (not before I shattered the bottom out of another pot whilst drilling drainage holes) and am now hoping that I have done it in such a way that it will put down more roots and really get itself going - it was really straggly, with foliage only at the tops of a few stems, so I buried the bare stems under the compost and staked the foliage carrying bits up.

                    And lastly, I shoved an Ailsa Craig tomato plant into a large pot to see how it gets on (skipping the 9cm pot stage);

                      Your Ailsa Craig will be fine FC, this year is the first year I've used interim pots, I usually go from 3 inch pots to buckets. :)

                      I potted on half my tomatoes today into there final positions in buckets. They have been so slow this year and I think I know why, it's not just the weather. Check out the Compost thread here in General Gardening. ;)
