        Spot the difference:

        IMAG0283.jpg

Now, the difference is not that some are peppers, some are peas and some are tomatoes - - spot the difference in the tomatoes, all the same variety, all the same seed packet, all sown at the same time.

Transplanted out some vegetable seedlings, planted up some planters, did a bit weeding. Harvested another lovely cauliflower and some salad leaves.

Also did something I absolutely didn't plan to do: after the evening shower, when I went out to shut the outbuildings, I noticed lots of slugs marching all over the place:gaah:. I know some of you may not agree but there is just no way I'm going to let them eat my plants :nonofinger: . So I just spent 2 hours bagging them. Must have collected about 2lb of the slimy creatures. I took no comfort in doing it since I'm a bit phobic about creepy crawlies and at the end I was feeling a bit sick, plus my back is killing me now from all that bending down :old:

That reminds me, I must get more slug pellets tomorrow - thanks HsuH :)

I've been trying to develop a new sport this last couple of weeks - footsnail (and no, its not hammering a six incher through your wellies) - I have developed quite a technique in lobbing them up in the air and then kicking them to Kingdom-Come; the odd one or three hit the fence with a bit of a squelch, but I look at it as there is always casualties in war.

Planted a Fern down by the margins of the pond, a couple of Campanulas in the walk around border, a Day Lily in the lawn border, an Aster under the Lilac, a Michaelmas Daisy by the old Bird Bath and had a tidy around the margins of the pond. I brought all the large pots of Cannas and Palms out of the Kitchen and Cool Room and gave them a water. I'll have to check them properly tomorrow to see what has survived. Then I cleared out the Green House to leave just the tomatoes in the buckets and a couple of seed trays that are still sprouting.:snork:

How far did you run?

I've done very little in the garden this week and am letting my back recover but I really need to do some mowing.

Planning a full weekend of doing everything :) Bedding plants have been out all week, including nights as its been Min 10C, so I hope to get the whole lot out ...

I think I'll leave the Dahlias (in pots) another week. They will go out into a more exposed area, so want them properly hardened off as they were growing quite soft in the greenhouse

I need to get cracking shortly and start planting all my border plants out, and getting my pots and baskets filled.

Need to take a trip later to get more compost (only 360 litres left!) and some slug pellets.

One nice thought I had in the car earlier - barring the XXXL Dahlias that I have ordered, the special offer hanging basket pack bought on a whim from T&M, and the additional strawberry plants also from T&M - - everything else I am planting out has been raised from seed :dancy:

Cut the front and back lawns. Potted up some Rhoddies, remembering to use ericacious compost this time
Potted up my Dhalias and a general tidy up all round.
                            It`s now :coffee: time.
