I need to cut my lawn but as going to a 2hr yoga class will see how I am this afternoon, either jiggered or more flexible,

Well, I wasgoing to work miracles, but then I moved a whole load of bricks/blocks that my neighbour gave me, and I would seem to have somewhat angered my back :ouch1:

So, I am going to go and get the air-con on the car re-gassed, will pot up my strawbs and the hanging baskets that arrived last night and this morning, and apart from watering stuff later, I am out of the game

Hope your hurty back is better soon FC :)

I've relocated an Elaeagnus and a Viburnum and moved a couple of huge pots (on the trolley) to the other end of the garden, then mowed the lawn. I need to pot up three Rhodies but am having lunch and possibly a nap first.

                Thanks all :)

Air-con all done - no wonder it wasn't cooling the car, it was nearly empty! Not overly expensive at £49 I suppose.

Pain killers are keeping the pain to a dull roar, so after a coffee I will get my strawberries potted up and make up the hanging baskets that arrived this morning, then I better run round with a hoover before getting myself comfortable for the evening.

                  :wub2: Hi there FC,
shifting a load of bricks obviously didn't do your spine any favours. Have you thought about a FollyMon type back support? Treat yourself to a nice comfy chair, a couple of these :ccheers: and gently click your GC mouse a few times... :wub2:

                    I should have known better Jenny - my back and joints have been screaming at for a couple of weeks now, hence the visit to the doc on Thursday which resulted in a 40% increase in my prescription dosage;

I even tried to be clever and reversed my car up my neighbours drive (they are across the road from me) and loaded them into the boot to save carting them across the road one by one. I am still moving at the moment (had to keep wandering around while the car was being seen to), and will need to get off my behind in a minute to get some stuff done before I quit for the day; I have a feeling that I won't be moving much by the morning.

I'm not sure whether a back support would work or not - I used to have a sports style one that I got from the RFU shop of all places, and good as it was, I wasn't overly sure that the muscles weren't being weakened with the ongoing support?

                    Ho hum.

Still, I will definitely take your advice later and have a couple of Bacardis (purely medicinal of course!)

Planted sweet peas in new raised bed I built yesterday. Planted some sunflower seeds direct and put old milk bottles over them. The pack said they are out of date, but I thought I have nothing to loose. Also thinned out radishes.

I cooked 12 litres of mpc in my microwave today, I hope I've eliminated the dreaded fungus gnats before using it to re-pot some young Ficus 'Benjamina' that I've grown from cuttings. Not much else achieved though.

Awwww - what have you been doing to yourself? :grphg:

What a bunch of old crocs us gardeners are! Backs being put out left, right and centre, strained muscles and all sorts! :old:

Thanks :) I shall be starting therapy shortly (best have my dinner first).

And as I type, my first glass of 'medicine' has been placed by my side.

I must have had my 'sore' face on, as Mrs C took pity on me and helped me to pot up the strawberry runners (52 of them all in), and then to make up the hanging basket kit that arrived from T&M this morning (sorry looking thing it is at the moment).

I'd really like to get the rest of my French marigolds out tomorrow, and then all I have left to do is baskets and planters (with the exception of the pea and bean beds) - - whether that is achievable or not will have to be seen when tomorrow arrives.
