I've not done much in the garden today. I checked on the borders, pond and Green House and everything seemed fine. I got the camera out and, with a mug of tea, set it up to watch the Tits coming and going at the Arbour Nest Box. Now I'll spend a couple of hours of sorting through them and post them tomorrow. I've got to renew the compost in a fair number of large pots so that I can plant the Cannas in them........but that's a tomorrow job:snork:

Well, I now have another job over the next few days! I've just been out and watered everything, and as I shut the greenhouse doors there was a bit of a pop followed by that unmistakable fizzly sound as the tempered safety glass shattered :mute::gaah:

Its one of the big blighters at the bottom of the door too - so I reckon that not only will it be expensive, but its also going to be a pig to fit.

      Need another drink now......

Set about reducing the size of the Forsythia by half, and started the great Lily Of The Valley cull. Chopped some of the Ground Elder and applied weedkiller by brush to the cuts.

FC, I went to a local glazier the year before last when I lost one of mine. He only charged me a fiver for it, cut to size as well.... and it was toughened glass. :)

Cut the mahonia back as it was taking over half of the patio. Watered veg plot and plants in greenhouse. And planted dicentra alba I have had in a pot into the border.

Planted up the acer butterfly I brought today into a terracotta pot.
              Watered everything!

Thanks Sheal - I am lucky enough to have a very good local glazing firm that will cut and supply the panel I need on the spot; they were great when I needed a specific panel for the porch in our old house after I had to break in when the lock failed. I'll pop in to see them on Monday after work.

Same here :dbgrtmb: Oscar chased a fox out of the greenhouse and through the bottom glass panel. It only cost £8. :)

I have an acquaintance that loves squirrel stew. He keeps our squirrels under control since Oscar is no longer with us.

I have two cats. One is useless. Sage five years ago would have been in her element, but at nineteen it's a little beyond her now.

                          There will be next weekend.....................

Up and drinking me cuppa at 6.30am
Pruning shears to all the bramble stems poking out of the shrubbery on the way to my own flower bed. It took about 15 minutes and I had to cut it up and leave it for the Town Council guys to take away. I must email the Town Clerk and ask him to put it on their list.
Down to my "gifted" Town bed to weed and tidy ready for Summer planting next week .
Home for brekkie outdoors in the sun - the first this year :yay:
Off to a nice local nursery to buy a box of mixed dwarf bedding dahlias for the square planter on wheels.
Home to remove the tired winter contents from the planter and plant up with the dahlias. All staked and tied in for support; says "12" to 15" high and it can get very blustery when the sou' westerlies rattle in.
Planted out a Salvia in the front garden.
Sowed some more cut and come again salad leaves.
Swept and hosed down the patio.
                              And that's it for today.
It was a pleasure to be outdoors for 8 hours today.
