Not much at all from me today - first day back at work, and my back is telling me off for sitting in an office chair all day :nonofinger: - that, and I developed a serious dose of heart and kidney disease this afternoon.

Anyway, I moved my Ailsa Craigs into their proper position up against the fence, dug out the 'sold' stock to take to work tomorrow (another dozen tomato plants and a couple of chillies) and then watered everything with my new toy.

As a matter of interest for anyone that doesn't have a telescopic/lance style hose - get yourself out and buy one! They are fantastic; one of those things that once you have used one, you will wonder why you didn't get one earlier. :blue thumb:

      Not much either today.
Took the houttuynia out of the border and put it in a pot.
Repotted a Japanese fern that seems to be struggling.
Canna coming on strong now with all this lovely sun shine only repotted last week and I can see some roots in the new pots already!
Oh and went into morrisons to see if they have any bananas in yet. None yet but did see a peach astilbe that caught my eye but I resisted :love30:

After work, cooked dinner then gave the sleepers another coat of black paint, painted a pot, planted a dahlia in the pot, watered, fed and deadheaded. The little un wanted to paint pots too, and ended up painting his patio table in a kinda blue/green/red/yella/ marble stylie. :heehee: :thud: :yikes:

I've just pottered today. Thought about getting some more plants in the ground then thought better of it, they still haven't grown enough to hold there own. I've given them all a dose of Miracle Gro this evening to see if that helps to spur them on.

I washed the 2 dozen pots I reclaimed from our amenity site and there turned out to be over 30 of them, all 2 litre pots, chuffed with those. I did the rounds with the hose in the garden this evening it's so dry I'm watering every couple of days at the moment. :)

5.6C now, and falling, so probably going to be just as cold ...

Couldn't sleep so was up at 3.45 :rolleyespink: Once it was fully light I thought I'd try out the masonry paint I bought for my concrete garage. Didn't realise quite how hard it would be to get proper coverage on such an uneven surface, and I think I'm going to run out of paint before I get halfway across, so just hope I can find the same paint elsewhere (it was an Aldi job) or else another magnolia to match.

Starting to look better already though, it's going to make such a difference from the horrid murky colour it is now:

Made me realise the obelisk is wonky (or might just be the angle). The obelisk is there to a) contain my climbing rose (Teasing Georgia) and b) for the Clematis I've planted next to it to climb up. Saves having to attach trellis to the wall.

Sown hestia dwarf runner beans where the beans (Roma 2) have failed to germinate, second year running they failed. Sown another batch if radish, sown red and white spring onions. Prepared the ground and planted out beetroot I started in modules. Moved some penestemon scarlet queen that were in the wrong place.
In now to bath son then go and tidy up and give garden a soaking when he's sorted.

This brisk, steady NE wind is drying the containers out rapidly but it's chilly doing the watering when the sun goes down isn't it,

Cut the grass, then got the hoe out and gave the soil in the back left corner a bit of going over to break it up, before lobbing some nasturtium seeds in there between the trees (naff all else will grow there), did a bit more hoeing, trimmed the other lavatera (the one I didn't get to the other day), then I dug out the 'sold' stuff to be taken to their new owners tomorrow, and finally watered everything giving the nasturtium seeds a particularly good going over.

Sharpened the mower blade (what a difference) then mowed the lawn.
                              Watered all the pots.
Merleworld I remember when I did my house a few years ago, it was pebble dash like your garage.
It took 13 5l tins :yikes: and my arms were like jelly when I'd finished
