What Jobs Are We Doing in the Garden Today... MK3.. 2013

Squishing greenfly on my Rose buds seen as the Blue tits are having a day off....will do some watering once the sun goes down

 

My tits are lazy - I don't think they have eaten much greenfly - in spite of their feeder being hung under the rose arch. As I can't reach to squish, I jet spray - but squishing is better and more therapeutic I think

Didn't do too much today - potted up some hardy fuchsias into 2 litres, and as I received my latest purchase of £2 plants from J Parkers yesterday I potted up the free trailing fuchsias, and other stuff that came with it (Nerine, Potentilla, Oriental Lillies and Hemerocallis (full price)). Not complaining but the sun is drying stuff out super quick here.

WateRed twice today, and weeded and planted up another 2 hanging baskets

 

Worked on a border near the pond today; it's been slightly extended and dug over and new plants put in.

Put the new "floating", solar, pond lights out on the pond ... they floated merrily into the shade of the mahoosive iris (Clearly, it wasn't explained to *them* that they are meant to remain in sunlight to *charge* )

Had visitors today so began cooking a meal, then felt too hot, so changed from an oven cooked potato dish to ... potato salad (including chives fresh from my garden )

Then felt tired, so went to bed for an hour Woke up after 2 1/2 hrs

Back out and finished off watering the extended border. The 'edging' will have to wait until tomorrow now.

Blow-away greenhouse is still standing (Day 2!)

Managed to squeeze the last 2 cannas in.
Watered the pots and GH.
Then just sat in garden in my lazy chair admiring my work with a beer
Oh and let little Mowgley lose with the hose pipe

 

Ooh, almost forgot, I gave my steamer chairs a couple of coats of black cuprinol shades. I couldn't sit with a cuppa on them til they were dry. Bummer!

 

Potted up toms and put in final place in grow house. Put my tumbler toms in hanging basket with some trailing Nasturnum and planted the 2 redundant baskets from front (now they have been replaced with new ones) with trailing Nasturnum. Watered everything.
