Just taken out a weeping cherry that suddenly died, not sure why  But gives me an opportunity to redesign the bed and buy some new plants. Just a bit concerned that whatever disease killed it may kill another tree if I replanted :(

Planted up the Blue pea (Lathyrus sativus Azureus) with the Bamboo trellis that I made earlier. Acknowledgements to Bilbo who allowed me to copy his. It's on the Blue pea thread.
Planted up my sweet pea "Royal family" and ,as it's warm this afternoon, have opened up the patio door to listen to the blackbird. He gets a grape for a good rendition. So nice to feel the sun's warmth :),

A warm cloudy day so I strimmed the lawn to get it to mowing height and left it to dry. Put my Chest Waders on for a dip in the pond to find and retrieve the large clay pot that had fallen in while I was away. Found it [the water was freezing] and put it back into it's original position, but it made me wonder what sort of weather the UK had while I was away!! Hung the Waders up to dry and mowed the lawn. Fed all the Roses, Paeonies, pots of Lilies etc with Tomatoe Feed and managed to use all of the 1 litre bottle:WINK1: Sat in the Arbour with a mug of tea and the cats:cat-kittyandsmiley:, while I looked for any problems and any immediate things to do out of the seemingly hundreds of jobs to be done.:coffee: Checked and watered the Green House seedlings and plants. Then, on Joolz's advice, dug a small pond at the rear of the Pampas Grass for one of the buckets of Tadpoles. I guess I'll have to dig another for the other bucket of Taddies. Checked and refilled the Bird Feeders, cleaned out the two Bird Baths and put fresh water in them.
Made a list out of jobs to do tomorrow.......move the Cannas, Palms, Bananas, Orange, Lemon and Kumquash bushes out of the Kitchen and Cool Room out into the garden for potting, repotting, and placing into the positions for the Summer. Start cleaning the bucket containers for the Tomato plants in the Green House and pot up.
That should keep me busy:snork: Time for another mug of tea!

Went out briefly this morning, half froze to death, and came in for a cuppa.

Cleared this area of Galium odoratum, Perriwinkle, and Ivy. Thinned out the Day Lilies and Irises too. It was hard work as I was working in amongst the roots of the Swamp Cypress. Planted Eccromocarpus scaber and Impatiens balfourii, and sowed some Linum seeds in a wee patch there too. DSC_2098b.jpg

Aaaaah, Sir Limax maximus at your service Armandii.

4" - 8" long. Every slug's spotting is unique. Indigenous to Europe but introduced to the USA but precise date unknown. George Washinton Tryon first announced its discovery in Philalphia in 1867. Tentacles exeptionally long and slender. Rather handsome chap don't you think?:imphrt:

Not a totally bad chap - eats dead plants as well as young growth, has a carnivorous streak and enjoys acrobatic sex (really)!!!
