        Good morning Jack,
hope yesterday's mishap is well behind you and you are appreciating this PROMISE of warmer weather. I'll believe it when I see it. Please, slow the pace down a tad and get yourself in HOLS mode.
        Take care,

More annuals put in today around 75 plants planted when I got in from work!
Put in salpiglossis, fuchsias and African marigolds.
Made up 5 tubs and pots with lobelia and begonia.
Just the rudbeckia, echinacea and dahlias to go ( I think)
Oh and the peppers, toms and cucumbers to go into grow bags in the greenhouse!
Oh and the canna that Pete sent me :ThankYou: :)

After weeks and weeks of rain and two days dry, my sprinkler is out of 'mothballs'. Having a sandy soil all my newly planted young bedding plants are drying out in the ground. Also gave my lawn another watering having put granular weed and feed down.

That's all I achieved today, having been to babysit my youngest grandchild. :)

I emptied a large trough that had some poorly looking strawberries in it.....took the plants out first and noticed hundreds (no exaggeration) of what i thought were vine weevil grubs:hate-shocked:turned out they were chaffer grubs:hate-shocked:....thankfully they were contained.....so putthe trough on the path and got the 'staff' to sort it:dbgrtmb::chicken::chicken::chicken:..they were gone in a flash.....

                Thanks Merleworld, Lolimac, and Jenny

                Docs first thing thismorning
Chest infection, and blood oxygen level too low, caused a collapse

I am on strong Antibiotics and taking it easy, just a beautiful warm day in the Garden
today did nothing but plant up late some runner bean seeds, reading the daily papers, Oh and I managed to pick up an excellent collection of easy gardening five volumes for four quid, and to be honest it is what I have been looking for and mentioned on here many times,
Basically every general plant has its own full colour card, and full instructions from seed to death, what soil, when to plant, how deep to plant, what to look for, when to do the next thing Yes a childs introduction to gardening really but written for non gardening adults :dancy:

Thank you al for your concerns

Oh and whilst the wilderness next door has no tennant, I took my gallons of Glysophate round, when trampling the weeds I found a crips brand new Tenner :)

                Regards Jack McHammocklashing

Glad to hear you're getting yourself sorted Jack. Gardening is like housework, it's endless, so do some and rest some! The tenner was a bonus too. :)

I've decided I am going to 'potter' in the garden today - I won't get much done, but I am hoping being outside will make me feel better (not that I am anything like as bad as Jack!) The sun is shining nicely, so its shaping up to be a decent day.

Can't believe the change in weather - it's gorgeous out there! Shame I did all the planting on a new bed last week really; guess I'll have to sit back and just enjoy it instead...:)

Quite a decent wee 'potter' even if I do say so myself. Got all my dahlias planted out, with a row of pansies in front of them; moved an azaelia that was clearly in the wrong place, and not happy - he is now over beside the camellia and rhododendron and has his wee feet in a nice load of ericacious compost; I've moved all my baskets out into the sunshine, so hopefully my begonias will start to do something rather rapidly, and I moved the three troughs that I bought the other day into their home up the side of the driveway.

Also managed to get one of the borders in the middle of the small wall between the patio and the grass planted up with salvias and petunias.

Photos to follow later, of course, but all in all not a bad day - and I feel a bit better having got some sun and fresh air.
