I've still got most of the Tadpoles in the small shallow pools I've dug, Joolz, although I did tip some into the main pond. I guess the ones I saw were the survivors. The big Frog I saw must be the one that produced the spawn earlier this year. The pond just seems to have burst into life as I'm seeing more insects and even saw a form of Dragon Fly sitting on an Iris in the water.:hapydancsmil:

These lettuce and radish seedlings that I need to thin out - is it simply a case of pulling some out and discarding them to make room for the others to flourish?

I have just cut my grass again before the rain comes..........oh I do hope the rain will come. Lolli I am waiting to see what Eringium looks like as I bought some in the mixed lot of roots I bought back in March. It looks like mine is just coming up to bloom. :)

Was tidying up my client's strawberry bed this week so have got a lot of runners with quite a few strawbs on them. They're in a bucket of water at the moment so I must get them potted on
Also got Cleome, Leucanthemum and Cosmos to thin out and pot on. Must get growbags for Bilbo's tomatoes. Thanks, Mike, they're doing really well.:blue thumb:

I have a tiny Magnolia Susan (not much more than a twig) which I bought from Morrisons months ago and which I feared was dead, but it's putting some leaves out now.

Today I have re-potted a Rhododendron Praestans and a Sarcococca Confusa and potted a Choisya Ternata which I bought for the planter where I've just put the Rhodo but decided it was going to have full sun all day instead.

I didn't get round to thinning those seedlings out yet (well, I pinched one and had a nibble at it, but don't think that counts!), however I have had quite a productive wee day.

I started off by going Wickes to get a couple of bits, and ended up coming home with four bags of compost as well; then, I repaired the guttering on the utility room (its been dripping badly since we moved in, and I was beginning to worry about it causing damp in the house).

Then it was into the polytunnel, and I got quite a bit done in there:

                  - Made up five 'patio pots' (any mixture of fuschias, surfinia, coleus, geraniums & pansies)
                  - Planted up four hanging bags that I got from T&M with the remaining begonias
                  - Potted on a good few coleus plants that are destined to be houseplants
                  - Finally put my sweet pepper seedlings into big pots
                  - Moved a wooden trellis off one of the fences that is going onto the other side of the garden
                  - Planted one of my bargain honeysuckles (tellmanniana if that means anything to anyone?)
                  - Potted up a lonesome geranium as a houseplant, which has taken up residence on the living room window sill.
                  - Applied my 'Evergreen 4-in-1' lawn treatment so that the rain tonight and tomorrow can water it in.

And now, having had a nice bath, it is time for dinner and then it will be Bacardi o'clock! :) :)

Cut the lawns yawn yawn hasnt rained here yet but it looks stormy probably need a feed as well I have competion with the guy a a couple of door down he has upt his game big time :snork: sprinkling away with feed then the sprinkler in action all last week thats somthing I never do is water the lawn I just think so wasteful I prefer to put a nitrogen feed on does the same thing and quickly greens it up .

Planted up all the toms into final pots as in two pots 70Ll to fill, dont moan normaly I would of done this 3 weeks ago but its done now and I did repot them all 3 weeks ago and fed I have taken 3 sets of the bottom leaves off so the firsts truss of flowers is only 6 inches from the rim of the pots now and all that stem in the compost will soon root away .
Fed all the daylilys with the seafood extract lots of "scapes" starting to form and on my new ones cant wait , planted out Kiwi Jenny self fertile variety I dont expect anything this year anyone else grow this one ?? any tips would be handy as in pruning etc

Thats about it apart from a large can of cider or two helps with the pain :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

According to the Beeb, its due to start around 10pm - so hopefully you will be more concerned with wetting your whistle by then.

I don't like Pimms, so you are on your own with that one, but I will raise a glass (or five) of Bacardi & Coke to you :)

Just been outside at 21.08. It's raining real rain - I can hear it going pitter patter. Bench is dry enough to take it .

Well we have rain, rain and more rain, so today will be a mad dash outside for my bits and bobs, I will then take over the kitchen and pot up my canterbury bells

I figure if I keep taking over the kitchen my OH will see I really really need a greenhouse:WINK1:, plus when he starts to cook tea I will then be busy clearing my bits and bobs away:heehee:.
