Put my hollyhocks in. I was going to pot on some plants but it started to lash down, so I pulled up some radishes and went and had my dinner.

In between showers, I reclaimed the other border from the lawn (still got about a third of it to turn over and weed) and made a start on shifting stuff for the fencing contractor - third one coming to quote at the weekend, so hopefully it will be done soon and I can get my plants out!

I watered my begonia bags with the wee adaptor thing attached to a coke bottle - much more successful than using a watering can - but had to move two of them out of the polytunnel as the coat hanger they were hanging on was struggling to take the weight once the compost was damp.

Its properly persisting down here now, so by the looks of it, I'll be lucky to get much more done this week - typical, when I take a week off work! :(

Torrential rain and wind here as well, I think the seasons are going backwards! I need to get out and re-stake a young tree, but not in this.

Had to take the baskets off my basket tree, and lay the tree itself on the ground last night as the wind was getting a bit rough - I've checked all the bricks holding my polytunnel and tightened the cover up under them in the hope that it doesn't fly away over the next day or so, and that is about it. The dog brought some of the garden into the house on his paws last night (cream carpet! :gaah:), and then took the huff with me when I dumped him in the bath to wash his paws (they were properly caked in mud) - still, he must have forgiven me as he has been sitting on the sofa almost super-glued to my hip all morning :doggieshmooze: and most of the mud has lifted with the vacuum cleaner, so I'll get away with leaving it until it dries up a bit before digging the Vax out.
