Mowed the back lawns done a bit of weeding, sown some carrots and salad leaves. The wife has cleaned all the patio. And I have had to dump all the annuals that I couldnt give away as they have gone all leggy.

Drowned my GH Tomato plants and they look poorly for it

I plumbed in an outside tap, (with the thought of getting a neighbour to water the GH whilst I am away)
So with the hose I thought I would give the soil border inside a good soaking just incase she forgot :-(
The Toms look a bit crinckly scrunched up top leaves tonight

What am I doing in the garden today? Diddly-squat.

Apart from the fact that it's currently chucking it down, yesterday I moved ½ ton of pea shingle from one end of the garden (where the Wickes' men dumped it) to the other end, where I spread it around to make the base for a gravel/stepping stone path around my new summer house and beyond - so I think I deserve a rest, although (assuming I can eventually stand upright), I may be persuaded into the arduous task of picking some herbs for drying.

        Absolutely nothing.
I was going to go out and do some staking. Some of the Foxgloves standing aroung the Delphiniums to support them have leant right over following heavy rain and winds yesterday.
The Lupin heads are also bowed.
Unfortunately it has been Stair-rods since this morning, so they will have to wait for another day.
I'm not paid like Titchmarsh to drown in the garden + it just started with lightning

Well, after getting back from staying overnight in Manchester for a Birthday Party [not mine!:snork:], I found that the weather was dry enough for me to feed all the Tomatoes, Roses, Clematis, Cannas and Paeonies with Tomato Feed so that kept me busy for a while. Then I fed the fish in the pond, did a quick amble around to check everything was ticketyboo and sat by the pond with a mug of tea.:coffee::snork:

Well, I went out there and did some weeding and trimming of edges and then it started raining. It wasn't raining too hard but I always come in when it starts. If I don't then, by the time I get in from the bottom of the garden (it only seems to rain when I'm down there), I would be like a drowned rat by the time I got in.

Of course, I've been in 15 minutes and the sun is shining now!

went to a local but new to me nursery, bought plants, planted them, weeded the borders, fed my plants, and cut the grass.

sat out with a ciggy, a coffee and admired my work
