Nothing here wants watered, so I might just get the hose out and spray it out onto the the road in front of the house - just because I can!

I've just been to the local garden centre to get some Provado, and sprayed it all over my dahlias - apparently the blackfly love my garden :mute: - can anyone tell me how long it takes to kill the little bar-stewards?

Not long - about 24 hours and Provado is systemic so it will repel them for quite a while. I am using it for the"sooty mould" critter that resides under camellia leaves. So it's a lay on the ground and attack from below. Not always easy!!
Its costly but one of the best I think.

Thanks Jenny. I nearly had heart failure when I wandered out earlier and saw them in their millions on the stem of one of my XXXL Dahlias, just under an unopened flower bud. Hopefully they won't have done too much harm, I am really looking forward to them flowering.

Finally caved in and Verdoned all the lawns, wanted to leave it natural for the wildlife but what with the daisies and clover and buttercups it was needed mowed every 3 days to keep it looking half decent and was just too much hard work. Hope I don't end up baldy.
Did some more staking, what with this weather never done so much staking in all my life, local hardware store has make plenty of money out of me these last weeks :WINK1:

Today I spent the afternoon throwing away dead cuttings and some dead plants, also re-arranged the potting arrangement on the patio. Also potted up some things that weren't doing so well, and put them in the greenhouse.

All I did was a little bit of weeding and cleaned and oiled another 6' x 3' hardwood garden table.

Oh well I am back, having done NOTHING for 14 days

My Inconsiderate water your greenhouse no problem mate, had a heart attack the day I left, (It can not have been the shock as I plumbed in a hose the day before) and is still in hospital, My tomatoes do not like him much

My Onion sets have all bolted and set flowers on the top, with just 2" bulbs so I will be asking adivice on this elsewhere

My super duper Fuji Finepix f770exr £300 camera that you can drop from five feet onto concrete, died on day two of the holiday, when kneeling down it fell out of my shirt pocket into the childs sandpit ie:- 2'

In fourteen days the side shoots of my Tomatoes, are thicker than the original plant stems, though I do have very green tomatoes on my Shirley f1s and Ailsa Craigs

Taking the whole ELEVEN family on a retirement holiday, with two three year olds, a five year old, one eight and one 14, along with the parents is NOT recommened, when all living together OMG I NEED A CRUISE though I have spent this years money taking them all on this holiday
To be totally honest it was good but stressfull at times especially the two three year-olds constantly fighting I want a red icecream. and I want a green icecream grandad, OK whah wahh I want a green one, no I want the green one, and for everything else bought, balls , inflatables for the beach, food OMG Hellllpppp

Many thanks to MIRAFLORES for all her support, via mobile whilst we were away

Back to garden tomorrow, when I have had a sleep

        Regards all

Only got back from a fishing holiday yesterday and after putting some very smelly, muddy, clothing into the Washer I had a walk around the garden to check on everything.
So today I dead headed all the Shrub Roses and Climbing Roses, put canes against the various Phlox that need tying up, put gloves on and pulled out some Nettles that were getting ambitious. Then I went into the Green House and straightened and retied the Tomatoes, and then I looked at the lawn and the long grass but as it started to drizzle I gave up on the thought of mowing it.:snork: So it'll be another walk around the garden tomorrow so that I can get a real idea of what needs doing!!

Well I got the grass cut today, it was a little wet but it needed doing...

I've also done some more weeding, harvested LOTS of raspberries and a few huge strawberries...

I've potted up my largest Erythrina and Brugmansia into what should be their final pots and potted up my Eddo roots I bought yesterday..

            One of the BIG strawberries;

Pictures not great but its off my phone as I left my camera at my parents when visiting last week - DOH , should get it back next week though..

I have 8 lawns to mow and strim today .... collected my new etesia mower yesterday after a full service so I will use and test that one today (lucky that I took it in for a service as it never had an airfilter and I never knew/checked)
