What jobs are we doing today in the garden ?

It's lovely chaotic though Armandii!

 

I have already mowed the pub lawn .... was there just after 7am, but it only takes 20 minutes

I fertilized the lawn recently and with all the rain, it's growing like crazy ... I mow twice a week there now, but only charge them for 1 mow per week

I am well impressed with my new mower (Etesia PHG) .... it's a push mower, 19 inch with a honda 5.5HP engine .... the deck is made of strong plastic, so it's lightweight and does not rust (it only weighs 34kg) .... The engine does not cut out when you empty the box, but the blade stops turning ... this saves you starting it everytime you empty

the grass was very damp this morning, and it picked up all the clippings .... these are a real bargain on ebay .... some are offered for £75 .... add another £100 for a full service and you have a £1000 mower that rates with the very best ... mine was £150 and the service was £116, but I also sorted the blade

 

I have just spent a glorious couple of hours in the front and back gardens in gentle sunshine. Dead heading, removing old woody spent stems of Roses, Lupins, Aquileiga and Campanulas. Dead headed all the baskets and trimmed off a large plate sized Dianthus of manky, soggy brown blooms that had rotted before having the chance to perform.
Picked 7 tomatoes - all orangey. They are sitting inside on the kitchen window to ripen - just in case tomorrow goes back to normal.
Patio all squeaky clean - ready for the JUDGEMENT. Beautiful Battle in Bloom Community areas tomorrow .

I've had a rubbish couple of days work wise and could really have done with getting out in the garden and getting my hands dirty to take my mind off it, but it's been chucking it down here for two days

 

So sorry Merleworld, BUT do read Armandii's weather news comment. It's all gonna get better very, very soon. Incidentally, I've had to shut the patio door now as she's pushed off on a "sickie" and it's gone back to being a bit cold,

After over a week of sunshine, the rain is back, so no gardening today.

Mizzle and grey,

 

It was overcast and grey with small bursts of sunshine here, yesterday and looks to be the same today, however after getting back from the allotment yesterday, i had discovered i had sun burn on my shoulders, so the weather was obviously better than i thought. Hopefully going to erect the shed today.

 

Rained again all day yesterday. My lawn had sitting water on it this morning.

Dry at the moment, but could change anytime.

I need to pot up a new David Austin rose (Lady Emma Hamilton) and a Rosa Mutabilis, but don't fancy doing it in the sog.

 

Not a bad day today. No rain and some good sunny spells.
Did a it more weeding, nipped the side shoots of the toms.
Sowed some bellis and red hot pokers and carnations for next year!
Went to morrisons after work to pick up a banana plant but was to big to carry on the bike!

 

when i finished work the weather bucked up so had dinner then cut the grass and did me borders
