Just returned from using the Hedge Cutter on the rear Conifer [Chamaecyparis "Boulevard"] which is supposed to be "a dwarf and slow growing" but had reached a height of around 16' and a width of around 8' before I lopped 4' off the top of it last year. Anyway, having done that and choking on bits of debris, leaves and pollen I tried doing the same with the Cupressus macrocarpa "Gold Crest" which is the same height and width......and had to retreat for a while as the pollen was really making me splutter and choke:WINK1::rolleyespink: So I'll wash down the pollen with some cold orange and lemonade, get a dust mask from the garage and start again:snork: I'll also need a shower afterwards as I've got dust and debris in my hair and everywhere that makes it uncomfortable!!:hapydancsmil:

I'll be giving everything a good soak with the hose shortly. Amazing how quickly it all dries out when it's in containers.

Not been a bad day - managed to cut the grass properly after chewing the top off it last weekend, then evicted another three tomato plants from the polytunnel and had a bit of a rearranging session in there to hopefully give the remaining residents some more room to breathe.

I then decided the fate of one of the tomato plants that snapped a couple of weeks ago - it was the bottom half only, main stem completely busted, no trusses and no sign of any new growth so it was unceremoniously oiked and the pot reused to pot on one of the three really baby plants that were side shoots originally.

I re-potted another couple of the outdoor toms, mainly because their lower foliage had gone completely and they had loads of bits of root growth around the bottom of the stems - so they were sunk into even deeper pots (one of them I sort of curled around the lower part of the stem before filling up with compost), so hopefully they will reciprocate and give me some fruit!

My begonia bags have been re-homed out to the front, and I gave the hazel (to be evicted next year) in the front a right good haircut. I pressure washed the path that runs up the middle of the grass (it was proper minging), planted out my clematis, and then put up some garden wire on the back fence to give it something to strive for, and then did the same to train my honeysuckle.

Oh, and Mrs C ripped out all the useless radishes and lettuce (knackered by the rain), turned all the compost over and sowed fresh seeds.

I'll sort some photos shortly. :)

I need to get them off Mrs C's camera onto the PC, then resize them, so it will be a wee while yet Jenny; I also need to go and wave a hose about when it cools a bit (going to be a chav and do it in my PJ's :oopss: coz I really can't be bothered changing again).

I've sort of overdone it, as in addition to sunburn, my back is now officially killing me again - pain killers have barely touched it, so I have decided that Bacardi therapy is the way to go.
