That's some serious rain you've had there Loli!! :redx: Why do we have to have 300% dry then 300% wet in these extreme measures? Maybe Mother Nature needs a careers interview........

Today has actually been dry so far, thankfully, although the clouds are looking a bit dark.

I have bought a new water butt to take the overflow from the bigger one, but am going to have to have a rethink about where to position it as it would be higher up due to a sloping garden

Going to check the sorbus I planted in the dark (determined to get it in yesterday & the day ran away) and look for a place for the acer I thought I'd lost but which was actually hidden under a photinia. Wrong time of year I know but it's a rescue operation so I'm thinking a nice container and some tlc over the summer.

I've just installed a water butt for the first time ever, although I did manage to take some skin off my finger with the hacksaw

I bought it as an overflow for the one by the garage but that didn't work out so I've installed it at the side of the house. Just need some water in it now and sod's law it's actually pretty dry in Manchester today.

I've had a bad cold for 2 days ... I seldom get sick, but this one has me floored .... I am well behind with my work as it's been raining non stop and it's still raining, and forecast says it will rain heavily for the whole weekend

Off to B&Q to buy a few odds and sods ... am bored, so just need to get out

I bought a large rack of pork rib (a cut from the belly) .... it's been marinating since yesterday, and the plan was to BBQ it tonight .... most prob will only get to light the coals on monday night

            :frown:

LOL ... back from B&Q and Homebase ... Homebase has 1/3 off all oudoor garden plants this weekend, but never bought any

got a small box of lawnseed from B&Q ... a couple of weeks ago, added weed and feed on the lawn of the pub up the road ... there is a patch that had loads of moss that has now died ... so will rake it to the side (cannot mow today) .... aerate, and add the seed then cover with a thin layer of topsoil .... will rain all day today and all day tomorrow, so will be good for the seed

Pork ribs are in the fridge (not deepfreeze) .... I first boiled them in salted water for an hour to make them soft, and then placed them in a homemade BBQ marinade which has fresh pineapple juice, Mrs Balls chutney (South African Chutney), smooth apricot jam, Smoky BBQ marinade, a tablespoon of honey, salt, pepper, 1/2 a teaspoon of curry powder, a few drops of tabasco, and a bit of worcestershire sauce

they will marinade till monday then I will slowly cook them on a coal BBQ ...
