Even with the rain, I really can't handle being indoors. So today has been spent splitting firewood, clearing the council storm drain in the verge outside the house. That jobs really narks me, as I shouldn't have to do it, but do. I then managed to sneak off to a local garden centre and came back with a rhododendron and azaleodendron. After planting these, I forked over a couple more boarders, collected a load of pine cones for another sculpture, then last of all spent half hour or so pushing yet more sticks into the bee hive log stack.
Sadly time just goes way too quickly.

It's been lovely here today, complete contrast to yesterday. I've been on a site visit this morning but got back about lunchtime and am working from home this afternoon, but I took time out to plant a Clematis montana Grandiflora by the fence.

First thing am it rained so did a mornign walk in rain then by 10.30 was planting clematis and honey suckle plants in one of my ladies gardens.

And turned out a better afternoon we hav eeven seen a wee bit of sunshine.

So made a start onmy new alpine bed thats all the grit in .

Then to get more compost and dig all in and so ready to play with planting alpine plants and then top dress with alpine grit.

I also would like to add a small ornamental feature to my alpine garden but not sure what to put in .

              Ideas would be most welcome.
