Here's one my grandma always used. When we asked what there was to eat she would always say "Cold cock and cauliflower"

Don't know where it came from

My grandma if asked what was for dinner would say "Meow wow and bow wow" or "donkeys b**holes stuffed with straw". Nice!

Oh, I forgot to put in my old saying - when money was short and we asked what was for tea, my mum would say "Bread and pullit!"

Lancashire folk have loads of sayings, my Grandad could have written a book with all his.

My favourite's 'Not as green as cabbage looking'!!
When asked what was for tea he'd say 'ajump at the door, a lick of the latch and whatever the drivers having'!!!

MF the Land of Nod is on the road to Scarborough, it was one of the sign posts we used to look for when going on our holidays. Not sure if it before or after Wet Wang.
My Grandma used to say "I'll live in Hope even if I die in Castleton" or "I see said the blind man to the man who was deaf and dumb whilst the man with no legs got up and walked away" (not pc now I would imagine)
