I have never liked cats, but they seem to like me!!:D

I rescued the first cat shown here 'Fudge' last year from a job that I was on. He had grown to be the wrong colour!! He was also very neglected and had been shut up in a shed for pretty much 24hrs a day. He had also been bitten by a rat or something and even 8 months on, the wound has not completely healed and the vets bills still keep coming.

The second cat who doesn't have a name, came to us approx 7yrs ago. He slept outside up until two years ago, and hates men. It has taken alot of work, but he now lets me stroke him for a few minutes, then shoots off. We also have to make a conscious effort of making a noise before entering any room that he is in, just in case it frightens him.

The third cat who is now sadly no longer with us was 'socks'. He changed my whole opinion about cats, and I felt very much as one with him. Again, he turned up in our garden very thin and covered in sores and ulcers. It took me over two years of hard work gradually coaxing him closer by putting food at the edge of the garden, until eventually the food was inside the house. I have to admit that I loved that cat to bits, but sadly he would get very stressed when we would go on holiday, and on the last occasion we came home to find that shock had made him go blind. He copped very well, and had his set routes, but sadly one night he skipped his routine as was run over. Oddly, I knew that the final time that I saw him would be the last.

Marley, I too have a Jack Russell (or rascall)! Dug his way out of our garden when we moved into our new house... ended up finding him in the local vets as someone had found him and took him there!

As we hadnt had chance to change his tag, it was still towards the old address! Luck had it that I asked an elderly couple walking their dog, and they said a friend of theirs picked him up... wish I knew who she was as I would really love to say thank you.

Ours is about 4 now... and a real pain in the bum! But we love him. :dbgrtmb:

I have 2 cats, i took them from the RSPCA rescue centre 7.5 years ago when they were about 8 months old, they'd been found on a rubbish dump, one was pregnant (kittens had been homed) and the other an almighty nervous wreck.
It's taken years to get them to a more balanced state of mind but they're so much better - and thoroughly spoilt rotten :P

EddieJ, your newest cat, Fudge, is a beautiful looking pusscat and your no-name black cat looks just like my Millie cat :P

Thankyou:):):), see were I get my username now, he's called Symba but usually up to no good so we call him Simbad, lol, lovely too see though, he was so ill as a kitten with a hereditary condition never thought we'd see him being naughty but after a big operation he's now a normal cat and 8 years old, thank goodness for Petplan.
