I'm too much of a novice to have put any thought into a planting scheme! Also, with having to do things on a budget, I bought a lot of my plants half price at the end of the summer season last year. I also got a lot of cuttings and unwanted plants. So all in all I just planted everything and hoped they grew! Low and behold everything is growing. I do like ornamental grasses and cordylines so the garden may have that mediteranean-ish style eventually.

    I`m almost done..

Here`s a few pics of the beast once i`d dry fitted everything.
It needs a few tweaks here and there to get everything aligned perfectly but as timber is seldom straight it isn`t too bad.

Just have to fix it together, stain it and then I can relax with a cold one ;)

    Hi Marley Farley

You must have a large garden and/or lots of visitors if you need 2 of these.. they seat upto 12 people ;)

The best i can do is give you the timber measurements and cutting details..the rest as they say is upto you :D

On the bright side they should cost well under £100 each to build and that`s including the stain.

That looks beautiful, it 's great to see things made skilfully. What stain are you using?
Bit off thread but I've just purchased a cheap softwood rose arch, needs treating- what's best, please?

    Hi Liz,
I`ve used Cuprinol Garden Wood Preserver in the past with good results.
It costs about £7.50 (1 litre) from wilko`s and comes in a range of colours.

I`m thinking of using Cuprinol Garden Furniture Finish for the picnic table, possibly Antique pine or Teak ..wife`s decision ultimately..i just build it!

Other products (ronseal etc) are probably equally as good but i think i`ll stick with one i know [IMG]

Is there any way you could take some slightly smaller clearer pictures of it Elaine - it may be my eyes but its too blurry for me to see the leaves clearly. [IMG]
