Thanks a bunch, Nick! Next time you can come along and join us - and buy the ice-creams! Plants?? Who wants them in the garden? Just need to be looked after, whereas a nice neat patio - no probs!!
No, it's not my taste either - will post a pic of how my own garden is doing sometime soon, then you'll see!

I'd love to come and help...a nice metal arch..a couple of ornaments and a few stone planters would work a treat...and I'll get the ice creams too :D

The lucky people who got us working for them have got a colony of bats - which isn't quite to their taste, nice neat, tidy gardens being more their style - but I'd love bats to nest in my garage, we're putting up boxes to encourage them there. [IMG]

We've spent three days working on Mum in law's garden. Demolished a falling down GH, shifted a skip full of prunings/rubbish/junk. Laid over 100 sq m of membrane and spread a few tons of gravel.
Still lots more to do but at least you can walk around the garden now without being tripped up or strangled!

Pics show about a third of the garden.

[IMG] What a transformation..!!! Very nice....!! All your hard work was well worth it. What else is M-i-L going to put in there to fill it up a bit?? Or is she going to stay with the minimalist look..?? ;)

M-i-L is now quite disabled and finds moving about difficult so it has to be minimalist with plenty free space. We've still got a few containers to move and we'll be replanting most of them. There are a couple of raised flower beds but at present there is as much ground elder as anything else in them.

We've still got lots to do, but it will have to wait as we are off to Greece for three weeks in a few days time.

Did you leave the bricks underneath, or is that the pile in the corner? Has MiL got a wheelchair? [ and what is the answer to life, the universe and everything? ]
Much nicer to have a few things that you can look after thanstruggle with too much. [IMG]

[IMG] Oh well Dave that explains it... It really does look nice. As you are replanting too, then it will be very pretty. Just what your MiL needed.. [IMG] Isn't it amazing what a little hard work can achieve... Enjoy your hols.....

Yes Liz we left the bricks as they formed a nice firm base for the membrane and gravel. The pile in the corner is a slowly collapsing pile of bricks at the end of a raised border. It too is on "Groundforce's" hit list!
M-i-L can get around the house and garden with the aid of a stick or frame and she uses a chair when she gets taken out to the shops.
She's currently recovering from a fractured hip after falling over the b..... cat, though was disabled before the fall. We've now managed to get the moggie re-homed.

And as for the meaning of life etc. See the next line - :D

amazing work, Dave! Must admit, though,
i was thinking "How are they going to get a wheelchair round that lot!!" Glad that was an unnecessary reaction - should have known you wouldn't have done anything stupid - sorry!

Oh, and enjoy your holidays - like you said a while ago, you do get around!
