I planted out a lot of the seedling Auriculas when we first arrived, just so as I did not have to spend hours watering them. I have found a fair few of them completely rootless and no longer connected to the ground. First time I have ever had this happen with plants in the garden.
Really annoying that despite searching we have only ever found one adult.
There was one Heuchera in the garden when we arrived, that too was rootless.
From the way the garden is we think that the previous owners only did Summer bedding. There were very few perennials, just shrubs. When I dug over the soil, I found pockets of compost where they had planted bedding. That kind of gardening would be ideal for Vine weevils.
