    Big fan of Echinops here too, does well in the partial shape canopy of the hazel AND clay soil. :)

        Am I missing something here fumanchu? Why do you only want something short there? Why not put a climber there? Cover the whole shed. A couple of wires needed thats all. Clematis montana would be full of white or pink flowers at this time of year and then lots of foliage through to autumn. Honeysuckles would give lots of scented flowers in summer. :)

          He won't let me. Says it will rot his shed.. :mad: Those plants I put in are tallish though, Salvia Superba and Campanula Persicifolia.

            I did that with the other shed Tetters. It's alternate planks of turquoise and mint green. I explained to him that it's being a Greek island beach hut.
            He didn't seem really impressed. :roflol:
            Going to fill in the spaces of this bed with nasturtiums just as soon as the morning frosts stop.
