A few of my plants seems way behind compared to some of yours ..so before May is out some pics of what's finally waking up in my garden :)

Marigold from seed.. smaller than I imagined but prettier than expected :)

Alliums, not the RHS ones as I strimmed the tops off.. (dick)

my daughter's cornflower from seed, was supposed to be just a normal batchelor button and this is what spurred me on when it came back the following year (2012).. plus a bit of hosta?? and the strimmed alliums :S

and finally, one of these bad boys has flowered.. never grown any Dutch Iris before but will definetly grow them again, I love them! And I want Germanica and Siberica ones now :D 20160531_104821[1].jpg
and finally strawbs and potatoes :D was feeling quite pants about things but its kicking off slowly :) 20160531_110927[1].jpg

It's all looking good to me Linz  It's been a peculiar start to the growing year with the weather this year. And the past few days have been quite bizarre! Saturday cloudless and hot; last night strong winds, heavy rain and ... the central heating kicked in! :hate-shocked:

I don't think your garden has been particularly "slow" either - my aquilegias have not yet opened completely (and after last nights weather I wouldn't be surprised if they came out in wEllies, sporting an umbrella!)

        You're doing great!!

I bought it last year, decent size in a 3 ltr pot with flowers, it completley died back on me when it finished flowering.. maybe I stressed it when planting? :noidea:
Edit here it is.. am pants at photos 20160531_104638.jpg

Don't think it is stressed, they are quite tough old things. Which aspect have you put it in? It does like a more shady retreat, but will tolerate some sunshine just so long as the soil doesn't dry out.

ETA: They are supposed to die back after flowering, so don't worry about that part :)

Aha! I see - okay, it is in too much competition with the grass. When you pot it up for moving, remove all the grass from around it. You could even hose off all the soil (so reducing the potential for taking grass seed with you) and put it in fresh potting compost in your pot. Next year it will reward you

@"M" don't think that you have misspelt the word. The site automatically changes the spelling from wellies and you need to go back and alter it :heehee:
