Caught this peacock butterfly resting on the bbq chimney at the weekend. Sorry about the "out-of-focusness" - phone camera. 2013-03-08 14.43.50.jpg

It's not so much the last few, Jenny, as the next few. Over the next few hours the temperatures here are expected to plummet, and the snow and strong winds will come sweeping down from the UK! Wellies at the ready....again!

It's purely out of a sense of solidarity Jenny. We would hate to think of you Brits suffering alone! :ccheers: Just look at what you'd lose out on by withdrawing from the EU! :stirpot:

A quiet day weatherwise and also with birds flying in and out of the garden. I sat in the Arbour for an hour or two with a mug of tea and these guys turned up.

I then had a walk down to the pond as earlier I thought I'd seen some movement in the water and spotted these:

So that made me smile, and it means my pond is doing okay and I should have some frog spawn soon. I haven't seen any of the Newts I put down there some time ago, but no doubt they will show up. The fish are still down on the bottom and don't look too interested in moving around. It's still too cold to contemplatea wade in the pond to do any real tidying up......made me feel cold and shiver just at the thought of it!!

Yes, you're right, Sheal, the birds are looking very smart and also getting very territorial now. The Blackbird is looking like he's wearing a Tuxedo!!:snork: I'm just pleased to see the Frogs again.:hapydancsmil:
