What's Buzzin' or Flying Near You Today..? MK 3..

It's been a good week. I've seen a garden warbler (I think) for the first time ever and a male Blackcap for the first time ever. Very happy.

Also a couple of bee's, particularly a very dark all orange small one was very interested in my face.

Great pictures Armandii. We don't realise just how pretty the markings are on starlings until we see them close up. Love the pictures of the pigeon and the sparrow having a stand-off.

 

Lovely pictures Armandii. I've got black caps and siskins for the first time this year My white cherry has been flowering for a week and it is buzzing with bees, so i am happy with that, as there were not many last year.

 

The starlings tend to visit my garden every spring and autumn. I've had a bit of a count up in the past and between 50 and 70 gather on the overhead cables that run through my garden, they queue up to empty my bird bath.

 

Are you the same in the bath though? The starlings don't mind communal bathing and have a bit of a brawl in the process, very amusing to watch.

Found that we've got 4 Ravens just outside the village this week, never seen or heard them in the village though. Recon that's because we've got a Rookery above us or do they just not venture far?

 

Ah - Ravens. They are up the Firehills( Country Park ) Ziggy. They sound like a miner's cough don't they?

Saw three orange tip butterflies (or the same one on 3 separate occasions) yesterday in the warm sunshine. Unfortunately they didn't settle for long enough for a photo.
