What's Buzzin' or Flying Near You Today..? MK 3..

Lovely pictures everyone. To think it wasn't that long ago we were worrying about the lack of all our buzzy friends.

It's a "Comma" butterfly - Polygonia c-album
and very very beautiful ....

Great shot Woo, must have been sunny, you normally you see the orange from above and the underwing as brown showing the tiny , (comma) here you can see it through the orange colouring to the right of the right leg.

 

Discovered these "wriggling" in the wild patch of my Copse today ...



This appears to be their Big Brother ....



Not quite sure what they will become, but, they have loved being cocooned on the nettles

 

I'm thinking (back from childhood) "Red Admiral" or "Tortoiseshells".? I'd love to know,

Ooh, I do hope so, Jenny. I've mainly seen Cabbage Whites flying around, so I was thinking it must be those.

But, I did spy some tortoiseshells flitting around yesterday evening ... so ... fingers crossed
