Thank you Armandll my friend ,much appreciated,I have been using Aperture priority F/11 /16 with the light we have and ISO set to 200

 

Well, that setting is obviously giving you a fast enough shutter speed, and F11/16 will give you that nice depth of field without too much background, Woo..............well done

 

I know what you mean, Ollie, trying to get something into focus can be difficult. But some people find that switching to Manual control and setting the minimum distance before you try anything makes it easier. Then all you do is, with the camera to your eye, move slowly closer to the subject until you're in focus, and then lean forward or backward to get it spot on. Having preset the camera on distance puts you in control not the camera.

 

It works if you take your time and don't bother about missing a shot...as the next one will come along. Static shots like Flowers are easier and again if you take time to look at the flower from different angles you'll start to see things differently as well. Yep, they are and around here the Farmers tend to let them grow in the hedges. Anything is worth taking a shot of, even just for practice, to get the idea of looking at things in a different way and seeing if you can get something close up into sharp focus using the light you've got right there. Try it and you be surprised how quickly you learn from mistakes and success.

 

I usually put a handful of Sultanas on each side of the base of my main Bird Bath for the Blackbirds etc. However, these guys turned up to feed on the Sultanas before the birds could..........I think I'll stop putting the Sultanas there for a while

 

I don't mind Wasps, Loli, as they pollinate just as much as the Bees when they're around the flowers. They were too busy feeding in a frenzy on the Sultanas to bother about me, although I made the mistake of not checking the empty Bird Feeders this morning when bringing them into the kitchen for refilling and around 40 Wasps [I kid you not] flew out when I opened up the tops!! It got a bit interesting in the Kitchen for a while until I had persuaded them out of the door and open window.
