The Wasps are still around and now they're feeding on the lumps of fat that's in the seed feed for the Bird Feeders that I buy in 15-20 kilo sacks. I'll have to suspend feeding for a while so that I can remove the small lumps from the feed. They really get into a frenzy and ignore everything, even a camera lens up close and personal.!!

Looks like a scrum! Is that maggoty looking thing in the foreground part of the bird seed or is it something they've killed? :yikes:

You're spot on, Fern.:snork: It's a dried Meal Worm that is part of the seed mix for the Bird Feeders and the birds like them. The Wasps are too intent on the small pieces of fat to do anything about it and maybe they don't like it in the dried state.:dunno::snork:

Then she saw me and wandered off again ....

Well thank you Woo. A very photogenic subject.
I had a look at his mandibles through a magnifying glass - he was actually chomping through a very young side stem of the Delta's Sarah Fuchsia. I don't mind though, he's a welcome lodger and the bush is in good condition and able to host the odd caterpillar,
