This is another shot of the smallest Spider but it was the iridescence of the thread that caught my eye......a Spider spinning a Rainbow!!:snork:

There's only a few bees visiting my garden now even though there's still quite a few plants in flower. It's quite sad to think that a lot of them have probably died by now. Can't wait for next year when there'll be loads of them again. :)

Trouble is, it is incredibly similar to a Brown Tail Moth caterpillar and they don't get must street cred according to this article :ouch1:

                    And today, I have these:-

                    1) discovered on my white poplar (unidentified)
                    CIMG0001 (570x640).jpg

                    2) seems to be a lot of these around at the moment (bumper year, in fact!)

                    CIMG0033 (585x640).jpg CIMG0034 (540x640).jpg

                    3) and finally, this tiny fellow (and in all honesty, I didn't see him, I was taking a shot of the flower and only noticed him when I was uploading the file to my computer  - bliddy interlopers! Hrmph!!) :heehee:

I was caught off guard by my first (UK) sighting of a Great White Egret which flew up out of the tall reeds, over some trees and not seen again.:frown:

Loads of young frogs and Dragonflies (the reasons the Hobbys are here).

It is and it looks more like an Edible Frog than a common but I am not 100% sure, most had a lot of green colouring.

                                How cute :).

Just the usual variety of garden birds around my place this weekend - wood pigeons, magpies and starlings - though, while we were hanging out some laundry, my granddaughter spotted a very surprised Grey Squirrel coming over the wall from the garages to our right.

I can honestly state that, once it spotted us, it 'fair flew along the tops of fences down the side of the garden - jumped down to get across the back - then shot up the fence on the other side and away across the rear fences to our left - seemed to really know his route very well indeed. Maybe he knows where there's a good stash of acorns to be had ..............

The whole incident lasted less than 30secs, but we felt very privileged to watch him/her. Had my phone in my pocket, but my arms were full of washing and I couldn't grab it quick enough to get a photo :cry3:.
