A few Admirals are still around here.
A rather bleached pic of one of four Dartford Warblers around yesterday down the road from here, the sun was low and spoilt the views.
A male Stonechat, both species seem to live side by side and like each others company.

The view from the hide at Middlebere (river Frome) opposite Arne RSPB, not showing much, unless you zoom in.

Some of 150 Avocets and a lone Egret, the first of many to come.

Sheal, it's a fixed lens Panasonic fz150 bridge camera but instead of the standard 24x zoom I can up it to 50x by reducing the megapixels to 5 instead of 12 which still gives reasonable sharpness (unless printing out in A4).

After a cold and windy walk around Morden Bog in Wareham Forest this morning I thought that this was all I was going to see as birds apart from the odd Linnet and Stonechat were almost absent, a late Common Darter sunning itself.

Just as I was walking back to the car two Crossbills flew up into a Pine, made my day.

Jenny, although I have never seen them before there is a small flock around sometimes but as Wareham Forest is 4 square miles it is impossible to find them, I was lucky!!
