Still using it Woo, frustrates me sometimes when the auto focusing is to slow to catch anything moving fast but using the extra optical zoom as in these shots does get you closer and fairly sharp at only 3mpx. I have started to pull back from max (50x) as sharpness is reduced, to say 35/40x, and then cropping if necessary.
I don't use any editing software at all.

And yet from the standard of your pics, Strongy, you wouldn't think it!!:snork:

Thanks Armand but I suppose cropping is editing.

There's editing and there's editing, Strongy!! and to be honest cropping isn't, to me, real software use.:dunno::snork:

We've seen up to 35 about 10 mins walk away. My FIL went away on a birdie watching weekend and couldn't understand why somebody got excited about seeing a single Red Kite - they're over our house/neighbour's gardens/our village all day.

As I've mentioned before, I even get reflections of Red Kites on my laptop screen coming through the window to my side.

The young son of one of our neighbours told us a couple of weeks ago that he saw some red kites nearby, but I've yet to see them. However we went to Llandeusant in the Brecon Beacons red kite feeding station last year and enjoyed it enormously. They are superb acrobats of the air.

Fantastic shots everyone - don't know what's happened to the birds in my garden they seem to have flown the nest - must be they no longer like the meals I serve up or it's the squirrel that has scared them off.

Doesn't look much wrong with the camera you are using - you've captured a real postcard effect.
