@martin-f I have a Woody that visits my garden most days and have now got used to him and he clears up what the other birds throw out of the bird tables.Last year I had one in the garden that had a very long bill like some sort of deformity but I haven’t seen him for some time.

I expect that when they have babies to feed I will get them visiting more often for grub:biggrin:

A few pictures from today, i like the first picture its far from perfect but look at the two other birds in the shot, another bullfinch flying in and another bird looking up chaffinch ?, i love how the lens is behaving it really focuses on a subject and forgets about the rest,

Its a great lens, im only using auto mode at the moment, image quality will improve in time when i learn the settings for manual mode.

Hi Kandy, Im getting used to them there providing target practice while i am playing with this new camera and lens, i will leave them be for the time being :),

Theirs nothing for them under my feeders i made a little house with a tray to catch the food its works very well,

Before when it was going on the floor i noticed a few rats, that was one reason for making it the other its at the side of my pond i don't want the food to get in the pond,

I never have to empty the tray i have a few family of mice come and eat up the food i don't mind them, i monitor whats coming and going with a cctv camera ive still had to odd rat visit but not often.

Had the Song Thrush visit the back garden again today and he managed to stay a good ten minutes until mr Blackbird sent him packing:sad: I have taken some meal worms and spread them amongst my shrubs and leaf litter in case he comes back and will have something to feed on.These birds are now rare in the garden although we often hear them singing when we are out walking in the countryside:smile:

We don’t even see Greenfinches in the garden now and only see them either out walking or in the hedges on our allotment:sad:

Sorry to bore you all with so many photos of my spotty friend:snorky:

You will get fed up of my pigeon before i get fed up of you spotted friend :) wish i had one visit i have plenty of berries for him :).

Hi Jiffy there not my feeders wish there was:frown:, but the lady feeds sunflowers hearts,

One reason we don't see them often is our feeders bullfinches struggle to get there beak into the normal ones,

Ive observed the birds that visit the garden for a few years now while visiting my bro and very rare they go to feed on normal feeders they use the normal feeders as landing pads and queue up to get to the one designed for them,

Ive never asked where she bought the feeder but many times looked for it and failed if you find it please let me know ive considered making one.
