Hi Kandy yes he calls everyday there was two again today both stretching up to feed from the feeders,

I think i did see the LTT on Springwatch last year but ive seen it before theirs videos online i like to look through,

Thanks Kandy ive moved the car and put some food out and adjusted the light hope they turn up early it was 2am when i was going to bed last night :wallbanging:.

Thank you Gail it wont cost me much to feed them, yesterday they had two buns the next door neighbor gave us to eat they was horrid but didn't go to waste , and today ive left them some chopped up cheese and bread with fat from the Sunday roast tin on it.

Lol Gail, i don't want to encourage them all the time, but while the weathers like this it will help them out a bit and give me pleasure of watching photographing them, once the snows gone i wont be able to take pictures easy due to the lack of light.

Thank you Gail i prefer the mice thank you i am trying to encourage wildlife :) bringing cats in will scare it all away try and kill it and poo allover ,

Mice are lovely little things a pleasure to watch them and very clever, i set them puzzles to solve to get to food and watch them work it out,

But similar with them i don't want them in the house .

The snow in the garden had frozen to a sheet of ice, feeders were frozen so the birds couldn't get to any food so I threw some out on the frozen snow but nothing came down for a while and then after saying I hadn't seen one for months and never in the garden........ A fieldfare dropped, in just staying long enough to grab a pic!

Ah that's what it is! Saw one of these earlier too-i wasnt sure if it was a thrush? It was soo pretty. I was looking out my greenhouse when I saw it and the photo i took is rubbish.

Just made half a dozen fat/seed balls for the birds. Had run out of bird food so raided the fridge/cupboards. I used unsalted butter, vegetable suet, black sesame and white sesame seeds, oats, grated cheddar. Made them into balls and hung them from string around the wisteria and other trees.
The birdies are at them straight away! Yay!

As a kid we used to get lots of fieldfare and redwings round here, i presume they still turn up on the football fields, i did see a few fly over the other day,

I will have to call to the fields i used to see them over 35 yrs ago and see if there still turn up.

We're just back from a holiday and I managed to snap a few photos. As I know very little about our feathered friends I'm relying on you good folk to identify them for me (not that I'll remember ).

Someone mentioned that they thought this was a black kite but said they'd never seen one that size before.

Don't know if this is the same thing in flight

                              These are white birds :heehee:
