I tried the Canon sx50 out again but still couldn't get anything in focus, I wish I had taken my old Panasonic.:wallbanging:

Amazing aren't they? I love the birds in my garden but it's special seeing these, unfortunately we aren't all geographically placed to see them in the flesh, that's why his thread is so brilliant :blue thumb:

@Loki i'm not so good where camera's are concerned but my hubby is.. so i use my phone camera :heehee:...but seeing them blown up beautiful like @strongylodon does it makes you admire the beauty of the birds even more.

Our weather must be pulling in better...as two days ago we had a good flock of seagulls come over and they love settling on the canals by we :)

Are you waiting for the EVF to settle itself before taking the shot @strongylodon ?

@Sheal I was using the lcd screen as I find the evf too small to see clearly!!!:rolleyespink:

I have the same camera @strongylodon and started using the screen about six months ago as my eyesight isn't what it was. I've also gone back to fully auto. What I have found helps with focusing is pressing the button, as if to take a shot, and holding it halfway until the green box appears, then release it and start again following on by fully pressing the button and taking the shot. Often I find it focuses better on the second attempt but by this time of course the bird is probably two miles away. :snorky:

Good morning everyone not a good image out of Focus due to yours truly not remembering the first rule in the book ie always focus on the head/eyes and not the body:smile:
