Whilst wandering along the river bank the other day there were lots of ducks sunbathing. They were careful to be on the side of the river where there is no footpath. Not a very clear picture :noidea:

    This was a clearer shot

@wiseowl, I took this last year in Wareham, a flock of Canada Geese turned up with some smaller Barnacle Geese, it gave a good comparison of the difference in colour and size.

Scaup, a duck similar to a Tufted Duck but with no tuft and a silvery grey back not black as in Tufted. not a common bird in the part of the country. Shooting into the sun meant loss of detail.

A bit of luck this morning, first Cuckoo, heard and then seen, they are becoming increasingly scarce now.

I seem to have got a new pal in the garden. Local cock pheasant sneaks up on me and has also taken to walking up to conservatory and asking for its breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Hes now brought the girlfriend along with him although shes still skitish. I hope he hangs around and dodges the foxes, shooters, vans cars etc etc. :sparrow:
