I saw one of the Bluetits taking a bath in the sink pond yesterday. There is a lot of algae blooming in there at the moment but he found a clear spot to bathe.

The Starlings have started to arrive with the first lot of chicks. Which means everything will soon be covered in liberal splashes of poo :yikes: . Going to move the feeders as far away from house as I can :snorky:. Unfortunately the return of the Starlings will mean the return of that hawk :wallbanging:. It knows Starlings are easy pickings . It's been conspicuous by it's absence over the past few weeks.

You must have all the Swallows, all we have up here is just 4 swallows when we used to have hundreds 5 years ago, somethings is not right as lots of wildlife has gone, birds, bees, butterfies and moths etc, it's very noteables in the big drop in numbers here

@strongylodon I went outside in our back garden last Thursday morning to scare off five rooks that were queuing up to feed on my bird feeder and as they flew off five Swifts flew over our house roof.Have seen more Swifts here than at home:biggrin:

@Victoria it’s been a long winter/spring for me this year and haven’t been able to shake off my usual winter blues plus have had the builders in taking down (with the help of Mr Kandy & myself ) our old wooden conservatory ready for a new uPVC one as the old wooden one was causing us grief and the workmen have messed us around so has to cancel going away at the start of May and we have managed to get booked in for a nice break at the same place as last May in Wales.Hope you and your dearly beloved are both keeping well:smile:

@strongylodon we spent all day on the reserve with a couple we have become friends with after our Norfolk holidaylast November and as they were staying down that way they invited us to spend the day with them before they left for home:biggrin:.The hide has the wall running down from it and the camera is attached to the wall of the hide with views of the water beyond  Just a question of zooming in and getting the shot as the bird sat tight on the nest:biggrin:

Our nextdoor neighbour breeds racing pigeons so it's great to see them fly round and round. Saw a lesser spotted woodpecker ?(the smaller one of the two) on our fence last week and then the week before that my son got some cracking shots of a sparrow hawk in our garden:wow: unfortunately she had caught one of the young racing pigeons!!!!:uh-oh:Would up load a few pics but seem to be having trouble on that front:wallbanging:
