Not much on the Brownsea Island lagoon this morning, this maybe the reason!!
Right at the back perched on a Tamarisk was a Peregrine Falcon.

Later when he had gone some redshanks appeared.

Jackdaws, ever present at the cafe.

We've only had two of our crows around for the last week or so. Stompy seems to be missing and I wonder whether he died. Spot and Blackie are still happily clearing up the seed under the feeder. I don't know how old they are but I have pictures of them going back a dozen years or more.

They're names are fairly descriptive. Spot (or sometimes called Brownie) has a brown spot where one of his feathers behind his wing has been sticking up for as long as I've known him. I'm presuming that they're brown underneath the black feathers. Stompy was named that as he seems to stomp around more than the others and Blackie is called that just to give him a name.

Just had a pair of Coal Tits visit the back garden which was nice to see as haven’t seen them here since before Christmas last year. Not sure if they were just passing through but a delight to see especially as we have a lot going on this morning so a lot of banging and hammering.

Same here @Kandy, one has appeared in the last week not seen since June, I have never seen two together so I presume it is the same bird.
Three Long Tailed Tits and a Chiffchaff also came through the back garden quickly, never really stopping. A Blackbird showed up yesterday which has been absent since early July.

@shiney Crows can live between 20 and 30 years so you could have them for some time!!

This unfortunate crab was caught and gradually dismembered by a Crow, he eat the legs and
            left the body.

I've had Coal Tits here throughout the year, about a dozen. The Siskins are back and a Yellowhammer has reappeared this last couple of weeks. Two of the three visiting male Pheasants have disappeared so I hope they haven't met with the barrel of a gun.

Our Siskins disappeared in June and I've not seen a Yellow Hammer since last May.

Spoonbills in Weymouth, only two here compared to the 30+ in Poole harbour but these were a bit closer.

Distant shot of a few of the 40 Spoonbills in Poole harbour now here for the Winter, hopefully there should be even more coming.

Ring Ouzel, terrible light so I couldn't get a decent shot. On it's way from the north of UK to Morocco to over winter.

I have never seen a Curlew eat a crab before, again poor light and rain are no good for bird pics.

Opened up a viewing slot at the local hide and there was a Kingfisher on a perch right in front of me, immediately departing and did not reappear :frown:
