It's a shame you haven't seen them Strongy but time's early yet. The pair that are visiting here have only been around a couple of weeks.

I think the mild weather here has upset the birds, it looks like I might have a pair of Blue Tits nesting already. The female is spending a lot of time in the box with the male making alterations to the front entrance.

Some of the birds around the feeders at Holton Lee (odd combination but a nature reserve and Spinal Injury Unit near Poole harbour).

The long staying North American vagrant Lesser Yellowlegs is still in Weymouth after nearly six months and a very showy bird and comes very close to the reserve footpath.

It has 'bonded' with an over wintering Ruff and are often seen together. As Spring is nearly here they may both move on.

Raven, these huge birds are fearless and come very close.

            Black Headed Gull.

Compared to the similar Mediterranean Gull, a more recent coloniser and spreading.

We have hundreds of geese flying in up here but I haven't got close enough yet to identify which ones.

I saw my first Wheatears this morning, six struggling against the strong wind, just arrived from the Continent.

Corn Bunting, a bird I haven't seen for years. Sadly in steep decline along with the Yellow Hammer and once common Grey Partridge due to intensive farming.

                        Ring-Billed Gull.
Similar to Herring Gull but smaller, more buoyant, and dove-like. Range, Canada, and Northern U.S.
