This is a female Ruby-Crowned Kinglet. It is a lifetime first for me and I needed help identifying it, and when I did it caused a lot of "experts" on facebook to disagree. Finally, I got a verdict. The males have a ruby coloured cap but the female just a touch of colour. They are hyperactive tiny little birds and hard to photograph.

Filled up the mealworm feeder this morning, and a few hours later it was emptied by a mixture of Starlings, Magpies and Jackdaws.

@hydrogardener, as we don't have Hummers here, our very closely related Goldcrest is the smallest UK bird but sometimes they can be quite tame.

Even Pheasants get thirsty. :) Not the most elegant posture but he is slightly lame at the moment.

A fine mess he makes under the feeding station too, raking the stones from my patio area.

Plenty of Goldfinches, Chaffinches and Siskins here....

Thank you @Victoria. I haven't given this one a permanent name but he has a nickname that I use from time to time.

Sheal, I totally agree. If it did not move slightly I would have never seen it. Here is another shot that shows its camo

@Victoria it isn't a swear word although the air has been blue at times when he's in destructive mode. I call him Mugwash. :heehee:

We had one of the Collared Doves come and sit on the ball on the fountain right in front of us ... but it saw Munchkin and flew up onto the angled trunk of the Melaleuca. Bird had flown off by the time I took the photo.

Today we went to a Garden Center  and we go the back road where there are dozens of Stork nests on the various poles (telephone/electricity) and the babies must have arrived as most Mammas were feeding something in the nest. :hapydancsmil: Oh to have a drone.
