Something I've not seen before....a bee stripping the petals from a poppy to get to the inside.

Osprey, one of several on a stop over in Poole Harbour on their way south to West Africa for the Winter. Doesn't seem to be affected by the loss of wing feathers.

Amazing stuff!! Nests are very quickly built and also Dreys, though you say No squirrels!!
The usual 'garden' birds would quickly signal if Birds of Prey were taking up residence ( though they seem to be putting up with the Kite, which I suppose eats carrion, and bought bird food!!!)
My son and his partner are up in NW Scotland and were up on a summit yesterday. They'd just sat down for their lunch when they were able to look DOWN on a huge eagle!!!

@Glynne Williams, fantastic sight, lucky them, I have never seen a Golden Eagle here, only in the US.

I love black Swans. Have only seen them in The Acores on Faial Island.

I sat with my binoculars this evening looking at the nest. It is very neat and have decided ...
                      1) It is not Storks
                      2) It is not Little Owls
