    They must live to a good age if breeding doesn't start before 5 years old. Let's hope they survive despite the farmers etc.

        The birds are hungry, I've fed them twice today and thawed the bird bath.

            Thanks @Victoria. I have a very greedy and wily Pheasant here, so I have to wait for him to disappear before I put food down for the ground feeding birds.
