The 'white' Ruff came close to the path at (a very windy) Lodmoor rspb reserve in Weymouth and never fails to get attention.
This is the fourth year it has overwintered there, it will soon be off to it's breeding grounds.

A few Snipe are still around but will also be gone soon.

The white Ruff does look a bit ruffled Strongy. :) Lovely markings though.

We have had an enormous bee flying about outside our front window, for the past few days.

Not so much flying, as pecking away merrily on the floor of the bird box outside the bedroom window. It’s been overnighting since the autumn, and the past week or so has taken to regular pecking, which seems to be part of the dating/mating ritual. Should be a fascinating watch in the next couple of months.

This morning was like a motorway with birds flying back a to, a fair bit of squabbling going on with the blackbirds and the like. Then when the sun got to hot all that was left were the pigeons, then I nodded off.
