What's buzzing or flying near you 2022 ?

Little Ringed Plover, another summer visitor slightly different to our resident Ringed Plover.

 

You do get some little beauties.

 

First Blackcap of the Spring, overwinters in the Med/Morocco so it hasn't had too far to come.

 

Distant shot in poor weather conditions but while on a Poole Harbour bird boat yesterday we had reasonably good views of one of the White Tailed Eagles from the Isle of Wight translocation project.




First Osprey of the year about 150 yards away also from the boat with a huge Mullet.

With frequent visits from the Siskins daily I didn't notice at first but we now have a young one as well.

 

It’s been a fascinating watch of what’s in the box the last week or so. Moss comes in, moss gets taken out. For some reason, the blue tit was dumping it in one of the holly trees, then getting another beakfull from elsewhere. Looks like it’s used some of the Stipa I left lying around, and seems to be nearing completion. Next week should see some developments.
